In 2014, Focus Bulacan did not just get " clearer, sharper, better ". The group also got a lot bigger.
More members, busier activities, and greater expectations. Probably the largest photography club in the province today and definitely the most active. In light of continuous development happening in the group, it was decided that Focus Bulacan needed more dedicated officers to lead the club's activities. Fortunately, we have members who are willing and able to step up to the challenge. People who could take the responsibility and not resort to excuses when depended upon. Let us formally introduce them in this feature. The Focus leadership committees will have a bit of reshuffling and a load of additional officers. Now there will be at least two officers to handle each committee, forming a tandem to handle each concern. The ever-busy Activities Committee will also expand from four officers to six. To best explain the changes, here's the new committee setup for 2015 : 
For our third batch of new members, we had to painfully decline a lot of applications. Not because the credentials aren't good enough for us... because a lot of them were. Not because the accompanying photos did not meet our criteria... because in all honesty, we (and by we, we mean the Focus officers who screened the applicants) saw a lot of awesome photos. Out of the 43 applications we received since we last accepted new members back in July 2014, only four (4) made it. The roughly 10% acceptance rate doesn't mean we suddenly raised our standards or became discriminate. The reason only four made it, believe it or not, is because we prioritized applicants who REALLY wanted to become Focus Bulacan members. The kind that made it a point to attend our shoots and activities, or entered our contests and voted in them, or contributed in their own ways to the group even if they weren't members yet. Consistently and persistently.
And just because you didn't make it now doesn't mean you won't make it next time. We just want applicants to be more active or involved - to show us that you really want to be part of Focus. Congratulations to our newest members!
