This May, we deviate from the typical Focus Member Feature. Usually we highlight a Focus member's body of work, a best-of-the-best, photos or their portfolio they've produced over the years. This time, however, we can't help but feature images from a single shoot. The set is THAT good, it can stand on its own as a feature.
We're talking about a Binondo street model shoot done by Focus Bulacan's Toto Toribio, starring his very own girlfriend Zette Galicia, in a set aptly titled "Away From The Streets We Knew". We all know Binondo as a bustling commercial district full of stalls, vendors, buyers, and merchandise. We've seen it in photos depicting its activity, customs, inhabitants, and food offerings. But rarely do we see model photos shot in the quaint streets of Binondo. The very reason these next photos you're about to see are being featured, isn't just that they were done in Binondo, but because they are excellent output of an impromptu street shoot. We have the photographer and the model to thank for.
More of the Binondo street shoot below, plus a few more photos from a newer set by Toto and Zette :
The exceptional photos by Ernesto "Toto" Toribio
And we'd of course like to thank Zette Galicia for gracing the feature
We're not saying a photographer-model relationship is ideal, we're just saying it can lead to awesome photos. Shooting our loved ones or being photographed by them could add inspiration while doing the shoot. That's a fact that this feature can attest to. :)
Every month, we have a feature on our members, our photography idols, and other photography issues we feel deserve a heads-up.
