It was a close battle by many favored entries, but in the end the top placers emerged. The winners of our August 2013 Inkontrol photocontest are the following : 3rd Place, getting 17 points on 8 votes (2 first-place), Entry No.8 by Khim Lumarlan  ENTRY 8 2nd Place, also getting 17 points but on 9 votes (including 3 first-place), Entry No. 7 by Kath Cruz  ENTRY 7 And 1st Place, garnering 20 points on 9 votes, Entry No. 5 by Hans Aliwalas!  ENTRY 5 Congratulations! No shame in trying, but definitely satisfaction in winning. Until our next EB contest! The Theme Competition is another version of Focus Bulacan's contests. The other kind, as you may already know, involves photos coming from our monthly EBs or scheduled shoots. This one, however, will come from themes or concepts which will serve as guide or inspiration for the participants in taking their photo entries. The Theme Competition's main purpose is to inspire and challenge Focus Bulacan members to keep on shooting during the break between EBs or shoots. Here's how we do it : 1.) Every month, we will assign a specific theme or concept. This will be announced during the 1st day of each month. 2.) It is up to the participants to interpret and showcase the theme/concept in their entries. We will not provide sample photos, to avoid creating stereotypes and limiting participants' creative discretion. 3.) Photo entries MUST be taken DURING the theme competition's duration. Old photos or those taken prior to the period of the theme contest will not be allowed. The Theme Competition's goal (of encouraging participants to keep on shooting) will be compromised if we allow old photos. The competition officer reserves the right to ask for the original photo files from participants (so please keep your original RAW or JPEG copy). The officer also reserves the right to disqualify participants who cannot prove the date of their photos. (Note : Please set your camera's date and time to the current and correct info.) 4.) Participants will be given approximately three weeks to produce their entry and submit it according to our photocontest regulations. Deadlines of submission would usually fall on the 20th to the 23rd of each month. 5.) The entries will be put into a vote, a process which will take one week. This way, before the month is over, a contest winner should already be determined. 6.) Regarding submission of entries, Focus Bulacan's photocontest general guidelines and mechanics still apply.
